no incidents continuing out past clarkburg in germantown. that's a check of your fox 5 on-timetraffic. -timetraffic. a couple of weeks from election day now. early voting kicks off in the district of columbia. d.c. voters got a chance to meet almost a dozen candidates running for the d.c. council at a forum in northwest last night. tonight is the last presidential debate, the funnel match-up between president barack obama and governor mitt romney. tonight's debate is all about foreign policy. the candidates will face off over questions about iran, libya and china among others. prep rigs have been under way at lynn university in boca raton, florida. the school has spent $5 million preparing for tonight's debate. our new show starts tonight. fox 5 news edge you decide 2012. we'll have certainly coverage of both local and national races. it begins at 6:30 and runs for two weeks until election day. e

making headlines this morning, wisconsin police say the shooting at a spa is related to a domestic dispute between the gunman and his estranged wife who worked there. 45-year-old radcliffe hotten shot seven people inside the spa killing three including himself. >> we were expecting an armed encounter if we did come across him. when we did eventually get into that locked area, we did determine that he, in fact, was dead. >> his wife was granted a restraining order against him just two weeks ago after he slashed her car tires. this is the second mass shooting in wisconsin this year. back in august, a gunman opened fire at a sikh temple killing six people. montgomery county police are searching for the person responsible for an attempted sexual assault on the capital crescent trail in bethesda.

melanie alnwick is live now at police headquarters with the latest. >> reporter: good morning. a lot of people here are familiar with the capital crescent trail. it runs 11 miles from georgetown to silver spring. it is very popular with joggers and bikers. around 7:00 on sunday evening near brookway drive just south of massachusetts avenue in the bethesda area, police say a 21- year-old woman was jogging on the trail and that she stopped for a group of deer to pass. she was struck on the head from behind and blacked out. when she regained consciousness, she realized she had been dragged off the trail. they made her way back to the main part of the trail where police say a fellow jogger, a 40-year-old man, helped her locate police and emergency resources and helped her call 911. montgomery county police are reminding people to be careful. >> this is a time of year where we begin to lose a lot of light quickly each day. so if people are going to be

outside in the nice weather exercising and participating in their normal routine, we are asking them to consider starting earlier and so they can finish closer to home when it begins to get dark. of those cases where police really don't have a lot to go on. this is certainly an incident that is frightening to people who use that trail and live and walk around the area. police at this point are waiting to get more information. we know that last night detectives were talking to the victim at the hospital trying to get more information from her about exactly what happened so they can put together a better suspect description for all of us to go on. back to you guys. talk about a seesaw battle. despite the turnover bug, the redskins came back to take the lead over the giants with a

two by the middle of the week. we are expecting highs to top out near 80 by wednesday. warmer temperatures on the way. it will be warmer today than it was yesterday. we got into the mid- to upper 60s. today, i think we'll be in the low 70s. we'll all that to look forward to, it is cool out there this morning. 50 in washington. 49 in annapolis. look at all the 30s. we are generally in the 30s north and west of the city. 37 in gaithersburg. frederick too. 37 in manassas. 36 in martinsburg and winchester. the clear skies allowing a lot of cooling. we should see highs back into the 70s. there is your satellite-radar. that is what you call a quiet weather pattern. don't have much to talk about and won't for several days. eventually, the high pressure will anchor itself off to the east and much like a bermuda high in the summertime, give us a southerly flow during the middle of the week. good news is we'll stay sunny

with her child care. the minneapolis sauced of throwing a fire bomb into the food court of an arlington mall is due in court this morning. prosecutors say 29-year-old leon trail is charged with committing arson for allegedly throwing the molotov cocktail. he was arrested last week and faces up to 20 years in convicted. here in the district, a group pulls together to help a happy struck by tragedy. they organized the fall safety festival in honor of tc maslin. lauren demarco was there and spoke had his wife. >> reporter: d.c. councilman tommy wells hosting the first ward six fall safety festival. fun and games, information booths a beer garden and bake

appears to be a case of domestic violence taken to the extreme. this happened around 1:30 this morning in the 1700 block of 27th street southeast. police say a man went to his girlfriend's house and confronted a man and shot that man in the face. the victim is in critical condition. police say the gunman who killed three people and injured four was involved in a domestic incident at a spa two weeks ago. he slashed the tires on his estranged wife's car. she worked at the spa. a restraining order was issued against them following that incident. he opened fire yesterday morning australialy killing himself as well. in montgomery county, police are investigating an assault on the capital crescent trail in bethesda. police say a 21-year-old woman was jogging around 7:00 last night when she was hit from behind and knocked unconscious.

police say the incident seems to be an attempted sexual assault. prince george's county police say speed racing is the cause of a serious crash. police are searching for the driver involved in a hit and run in adelphi that left the 21- year-old man in critical condition. this happened saturday afternoon around 3:15. police say two cars were seen racing near university boulevard and riggs road. this is the second crash linked to speed racing in prince george's county in just two days. friday night, a passenger in a car kaz willed. eight metrobus passengers were injured. prince george's county has agreed to pay more than $3.5 million to 10 people who were either falsely arrested or injured by police during a wild post-game celebration at the university of maryland. lawyers say $2 million. settlement will go to john mckenna. he was the student badly beaten

major terror attack and have arrested 11 slayed suspects. they are accused of plotting to kill american and european diplomats and planning attacks on shopping malls. we are learning more about a deadly attack on a family in southern california. police suspect a man living in a back bungalow house shot five family members in the front house on the same property. the father and his four-year- old son died. it is believed the father tried to shield his wife and children from the bullets. the back home was then set on fire. it is believed the charred boddivity gunman was found wearing body armor and clutching a gun. more heart break for the family of arizona congresswoman gabrielle giffords after her father passed away this weekend. spencer giffords passed way at home on saturday. his wife said he had been suffering from several health issues and says he was

completed an escalator replacement project at the dupont circle station. the transit system opened three new escalators at the station's south entrance sunday. that mace has been closed for a while. a ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the entrance. metro has a multi-year plan to improve escalator service and a plan to replace 94 escalators over the next seven years. we have appear alert for drivers. nissan is recalling more than 13,000 altima vehicles because bolts can come loose an increase the risk of a crash. the recall is for model years 2012 and 2013 with cars made between may 10 and july 26th. the recall will begin next week and dealers will tighten the bolt. gas prices continue to fall. some good news. the latest lundberg survey find the latest price of gas has dropped. the lowest is in oklahoma at
